Buying at Doña Lola

Buyers can buy resale weeks at the Doña Lola Club resort through the Macdonald Resale programme, from independent resale brokers or privately. Generally resale prices are significantly lower than the Macdonald list price.

If you buy privately, remember that Macdonald will require the seller to send them their owner certificate with a transfer fee and they will send a new certificate to the buyer. It is unlikely that the buyer will wish to pay you until they receive their certificate but then how can the seller then be sure that they will get paid? If you do buy privately we recommend that you use an intermediary such as a solicitor just as you would when selling a house.

Macdonald also now offers ownership through its Options programme. Rather than fixed weeks you have the opportunity to own floating time at the resort or can opt to use the Options points to stay at another Macdonald resort or hotel, or exchange via Interval International. Owners who join the programme relinquish their voting rights and are not eligible to attend the Owners Committee Annual General Meeting.

New purchasers may find that it is more cost effective to first buy Dona Lola resale fixed weeks then trade up to Options.
