Holiday Information
Getting to Doña Lola
There are regular flights to Malaga from UK international airports.
The Dona Lola Club is around 35 km from the airport. A taxi from the airport will
cost around €50.
It is possible to catch a train from the airport to Fuengirola
- see
Malaga Airport website for details - and
then get a taxi or the Marbella bus that passes the Dona Lola resort.
An alternative we suggest you consider is to arrange a
private transfer via
Shuttle Direct,
you will be met off your plane and driven to the resort.

Getting Around
A hire car will make getting around easy. This can be hired
at the Dona Lola resort - contact reception for details - or hire in
advance one of the partners advertising on this website.
However, there is frequent bus service between Fuengirola and
Marbella that stops right outside the resort. From Marbella you can
catch another bus to Puerto Banus, or travel by boat and arrive in the
marina amongst the yachts! From Fuengirola there is a regular bus
service to Puerto Banus and a train service to Malaga.
Alternatively, coach trips can be arranged to Malaga, Seville,
Granada, Ronda, Cordoba, Nerja, Jerez, Tangier or Gibraltar.

excursions for shopping and visits to places of interest including Mijas,
details from reception or a member of the Macdonald sales team.
Things to Do
Although Dona Lola offers lots of activities or just the opportunity
to relax by the pool or on the beach, there are lots of other things to
do in the area.
The more energetic might want to walk along the beach to Cabo Pino
with its excellent beaches - including one for naturists - and
restaurants. Or walk along the beach to the weekly market at Cala. In
either case you can get the bus back.
Marbella has superb beaches, restaurants, shops and entertainment and
do take a walk around the old town.
Fuengirola offers great beaches, a water park, shops, restaurants,
bars and night clubs. Mijas is a small traditional Andalucian town high
in the mountains above Fuengirola.
Ronda is a little further away but its gorge and views around the
town are well worth the effort.
Puerto Banus offers an opportunity to mix with the jet set.
Gibraltar, Seville and Granada are all within day trip range.
Malaga is well worth a visit, particularly the old town, cathedral,
Moorish defences and the Picasso Museum.
There are several excellent golf courses nearby.
Eating Out
The Dona Lola resort offers both a restaurant and two bars that serve
snacks. The newly refurbished Vistamar Restaurant and poolside bar where
officially opened in June 2005 with a new range of menus.

Several restaurants are located just outside the resort entrance
offering Spanish, Chinese, Italian and English cuisine. There are many
other restaurants within walking distance of the resort.

The historical centre of Marbella has numerous restaurants and Tapas
bars, or try one of the seafood restaurants on the seafront at
Fuengirola.
Shopping
Dona Lola now has its own shop 'La Tienda' located
next door to the resort
reception.
There is also a small convenience store situated in the parade just outside
the Dona Lola resort entrance. Across the road there is a supermarket
offering a wider range of products. If you have a car there are several
supermarkets nearby including Supersol and Lidl.
If you are arriving late it is worth ordering a welcome pack from the
resort, this will ensure that you have the basics including bread, milk,
butter and eggs.
Marbella offers a range of shops and department stores or try the
shopping centre at Puerto Banûs.
